TV tonight: 'Lethal Weapon,' 'Criminal Minds' crossover – USA TODAY

Lethal Weapon
Fox, 8 ET/PT

From the moment Fox announced it was doing a remake of Lethal Weapon, there must have been people eagerly anticipating the arrival of Leo Getz — the overly chatty federal witness-turned-sidekick played in the movies by Joe Pesci. Well, here he is, in the potentially well-cast person of Thomas Lennon, who just finished his stint on The Odd Couple and can be seen in Netflix’s very darkly funny Santa Clarita Diet. Hilarie Burton also guests as Agent Palmer, as she, Riggs and Murtaugh try to protect Leo from the cartel he’s angered.

While Lethal re-introduces a beloved character, Arrow provides one of its own with an origin story. An attack on City Hall brings back painful memories for Rene (Rick Gonzalez), and allows Arrow to show us how Rene turned into Wild Dog.

Criminal Minds

If there are any two shows you really shouldn’t want to see bumbling their way through Mexico (and Mexican/American relations) right now, they’re Minds and its unfortunate offshoot, Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders. Yet here they are, combined, as the Minds crew turns to its Borders friends for help when a BAU member gets into trouble in Mexico. The very thought is enough to make you shudder.
