“Criminal Minds” had audiences equally gasping in fear and crying tears of relief in one very suspenseful episode.  Titled “Derek,” it was obvious which BAU member the spotlight would be on, but no one knew how many twists and turns there would be on Wednesday (March 2).

These are the 4 “OMG” moments that left fans’ emotions reeling:

1.Meet Derek’s dead father: Danny Glover

At the end of last week, Derek Morgan (Shemar Moore) was captured by a torturer-for-hire named Edgar Solomon (Charles Measure). As Derek got beaten to a pulp, his mind entered a dream like state in which he envisioned the perfect life which involved living with Savannah (Rochelle Aytes) and their two fictional kids.

His mind soon takes a darker turn and rememberers the day his dad was fatally shot. Playing Hank is none other than veteran actor Danny Glover.

As Derek’s mind continues down this dark tunnel of memories, we see a 15-year-old Derek being abused by a pedophile before he comes to and is thankfully rescued.

2. Derek almost dies again on the way to the hospital

Just when everyone thought everything was going to be okay, Derek begins to flatline in the ambulance. One more time Hank appears in Derek’s dire state of mind, and urges his son to stay alive. Three days later, he finally wakes up.

3. Savannah is pregnant

Derek finally realized that this is what Savannah was trying to tell him in last week’s episode. That’s right, everyone. Derek is going to be a Daddy.

4. Derek pops the question

Hallelujah!  After such an emotionally wrought episode, this was the perfect final surprise moment that had fans reeling with happy tears. Derek is going to tie the knot with his baby mama, and things have never felt more right.

“Criminal Minds” airs on Wednesday nights at 9 p.m. ET/PT on CBS.
