The primary suspect in a series of deadly shootings in Michigan on Saturday has been identified as Jason Brian Dalton, a 45-year-old man, Kalamazoo County Prosecutor Jeff Getting said at a press conference Sunday morning.
Detectives believe Dalton shot eight people — six of them fatally — outside a townhouse, a local Cracker Barrel, and vehicle dealership in Kalamazoo, killing four women, a father and his 18-year-old son.
Dalton is reportedly an Uber driver, and was opening fire randomly as he picked up fares, according to local Michigan newspaper the Battle Creek Enquirer.
Hours before Dalton began his shooting rampage, a Kalamazoo woman posted on Facebook warning locals not to ride with Dalton, who had been driving “eratically” when her fiancee was in the car with him.
“The Uber driver named JASON is not a safe ride,” the woman, Mackenzie Waite, wrote on Facebook, according to local news station WoodTV. She noted that Dalton “sideswiped a car” before driving “80mph down west main swerving in and out of oncoming traffic.”
Dalton is currently in police custody.

No motive has been determined yet for Dalton’s actions, Getting said Sunday, according to CNN.
