CBS announced that “Criminal Minds” was renewed, so if you’re a fan of the show, make sure that you check out our list of the three reasons why we’re so happy the series is going to return for season 12.

3. It Allows Frances Fisher To Reprise Her Role Of Antonia Slade.

In the “Criminal Minds” season 11 finale, Fisher appeared as the serial killer Antonia Slade, and her character tried to help the Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU) try to stop a prison breakout from occurring in return for the team helping her son Asher stay safe.

Previously, “Criminal Minds” executive producer Erica Messer admitted to TV Guide that she’d like to bring Fisher back for season 12. It will be interesting to see if Fisher reprises her role of Antonia when the show returns next year.

2. Hotch And Mr. Scratch Can Have An Epic Showdown.

The “Criminal Minds” season 11 finale revealed that a psychopath named Eric Rawdon helped coordinate several prison breaks, and 13 serial killers managed to escape.

One of these escaped prisoners was Mr. Scratch, who previously testified against FBI Agent Aaron “Hotch” Hotchner.

Perhaps Mr. Scratch and Hotch will have an epic showdown in season 12 that will leave viewers biting their nails until the very last second.

1. The Show Could Introduce A New Character To Replace Derek Morgan.

In “Criminal Minds” season 11, Derek Morgan decided to leave the BAU after a near-death experience.

Now that the BAU is missing a member, perhaps “Criminal Minds” could introduce a new character to take Morgan’s place on the team in season 12.

“Criminal Minds” fans, are you looking forward to season 12? Vote in our poll below and let us know your thoughts by leaving a comment.
